Golden Hind: Build Log #1

Assembling the bulkheads onto the frames was pretty straightforward. Used the office-style black clamps to keep them at a 90 degree angle to the frame.

After getting the false deck glued on, I did the deck planking. The process was also very straightforward. I cut the long deck planks into 60 mm strips, and worked from the middle to the outside. While I used the concept of the “king plank”, the middle plank was the same thickness as the rest. I used a regular pencil to darken the edges of the planks before gluing them on with standard PVA.

I also decided that the photo etch doors looked very fake, so I created my own using some balsawood as a frame.
