Golden Hind: Build Log #8

I added the deck furniture items, including the pilot house and deck grating. I should have stained the deck grating beforehand, because there are spots in between the grates where the stain didn’t quite make it.

Also added the catheads. I couldn’t decide whether to cut the rails, or the catheads themselves to fit onto the forecastle, but ultimately decided to cut into the catheads themselves. The fit was a bit wonky, but overall turned out OK.

I also added the photo etch decoration. The brass photo etch didn’t look very good on the dark stained hull, so I decided to paint them black. The contrast is very nice.
